Itinerary
Day 1 – Cusco → Cloud Forest → Cock of the Rock Lodge
Early pickup from your hotel in Cusco.
Scenic drive through Andean highlands and valleys, passing rural communities and dramatic landscapes.
Stop at the colonial village of Paucartambo for breakfast.
Visit the Acjanaco Mountain Pass for panoramic views of the Andes and the Amazon basin.
Explore the Manu Cloud Forest, observing the change from puna grasslands to lush cloud forest ecosystems.
Picnic lunch along the Manu Road.
Arrive at Cock of the Rock Lodge in the afternoon.
Guided afternoon walk and optional night walk to observe nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2 – Cloud Forest Exploration
Early morning birdwatching walk to look for the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, toucans, hummingbirds, tanagers, and motmots.
Wildlife observation in the cloud forest, with chances to see woolly monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and other mammals.
Breakfast at the lodge with views of the gardens and surrounding forest.
Guided walks along forest trails and lodge surroundings.
Lunch at the lodge.
Afternoon nature walk and evening forest experience.
Day 3 – Cloud Forest → Villa Salvación → Machuwasi Lagoon
Breakfast at the lodge.
Drive to Villa Salvación, the capital of Manu Province, passing small rainforest villages and local markets.
Visit Machuwasi Lagoon and navigate by balsa-wood raft, observing marsh birds and wetland wildlife.
Guided walk through forest trails toward the Alto Madre de Dios River.
Lunch in Villa Salvación.
Visit a local fish farm showcasing community-based conservation efforts.
Return to Cock of the Rock Lodge in the afternoon.
Dinner at the lodge.
Day 4 – Cloud Forest → Cusco
Early morning walk for final wildlife sightings in the Manu Cloud Forest.
Breakfast at the lodge.
Return drive to Cusco with scenic stops along the Andean slopes.
Picnic lunch along the Manu Road.
Pass through Paucartambo and enjoy the highland landscapes.
Arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon.
Detailed Tour Plan
Day 01: From Cusco to Coock of the Rock Lodge.
We start leaving Cusco in the early morning in private van ride along the Andean highland road to Paucartambo – a colonial village – passing an impressive landscape and small highlands communities during the journey along the road.
Breakfast at Paucartambo Village.
Leaving behind Paucartambo following the road to reach the entrance to Manu Biosphere Reserve, the Acjanaco Mountain Pass (3550 m), where is possible to have a great view over the eastern slopes of the Andes to the canopy of the Amazon Rain forest. During the trip further down you will observe the fascinating change from the puna grassland to the Cloud Forest of Manu Biosphere Reserve.
Picnic lunch on Manu Road.
In the early afternoon you will reach the Coock of The Rock lodge (1500 m). Once at the Lodge you may also just relax observing nature from the terrace of the lodge and your guide will invite you for a gentle walk along the road, heading back to the lodge you will experience nature within dark and learn more about the fauna and flora of the Manu Cloud Forest, before dinner.

Day 2: Cock of the Rock Lodge.
The early morning is the best time for an observation walk, bird- watching and looking for animals of the Cloud Forest. Leaving before sunrise you will get familiar with the flora and fauna of this part of the Manu National Park. You might see the Andean Cock of the Rock (national bird of Peru), Toucan, Quetzal, Tanager and Motmot as well. The Manu Cloud Forest is also habitat of some mammals as Woolly Monkeys, Brown Capuchin Monkeys, Squirrels, Agouti, Tayra and some others small mammals.

After the delicious breakfast at the Lodge whit a spectacular view of the garden and its particular fauna as monkeys, rodents, birds (many species of Hummingbirds and tanagers) spending the rest of the morning taking a walk on some of the trails around the lodge.

After lunch your guide will invite you for a gentle walk along the road, heading back to the lodge you will experience nature within dark and learn more about the fauna and flora of the Manu Cloud Forest, before dinner.

Day 3: Cock of the Rock Lodge – Villa Salvacion – Machuwasi Lagoon – Cock of the Rock lodge.
Breakfast at Cock of the Rock Lodge.
After the breakfast you will take a van ride for 2 hours heading to Villa Salvacion which is considered as Manu Province Capital village, along the road you are going to pass on some villages where you can visit the local markets looking for some rainforest fruits.
Once at Villa Salvacion you will visit the Machuwasi lagoon and on a balsa wood raft you are going to navigate the first navigable lagoon along the Alto Madre de Dios river looking some birds that habitat the marsh area that surround the lagoon, then you will walk for more than 2 hours on some trails to way out to the Alto Madre de Dios river and then back to Villa Salvacion.
Lunch at Villa Salvacion.
Then you will go to visit a fish farm as local efforts to develop the region economy and then we will take the van for two hours approximately back to the Cock of the Rock Lodge.
Dinner at Cock of the Rock Lodge.
Day 4: Cock of the Rock Lodge – Cusco.
Early morning you will have the chance to walk along the road looking for one more time for the cock of the rock, the woolly monkey and some of the most colorful birds that habits the manu cloud forest.
Breakfast at Cock of the Rock Lodge.
After breakfast you will take our van back to Cusco whit some stops along the road to enjoy for last time the wonderful scenery and the landscapes of the Andes slope.
Picnic lunch on Manu Road.
Once at Paucartambo village you can enjoy once more the variety of landscapes typical of the highlands farms and communities offers, until to arrive Cusco city in the afternoon.
